The school at a glance
Green Valley Public School stands at the western end of Jahu township, just south of the Jahu–Hamirpur road. It opened on 4 April 1989 and has been affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education since.
Families come to us from Jahu, Badehar, Kakrot and the surrounding panchayats. Most of our students are the first in their family to sit a Board examination, and the school is built around that: small classes, teachers who stay, and a syllabus taught in full rather than in outline.

What the school does
Four things we hold ourselves to, and can be asked about at any parent meeting.
Keep classes small
Sections are capped so that a teacher can mark every notebook every week and know which child is falling behind.
Teach in English, properly
English is the medium from the first year, with spoken practice built into the timetable rather than left to textbooks.
Stay reachable
Parents can meet a class teacher on any working Saturday without an appointment, and reach the office by phone on weekdays.
Run a full games period
Games are timetabled, not optional. The ground is used every day the weather allows it.

Affiliation papers, fee structure, staff strength and infrastructure details are on the disclosure page, as CBSE requires.
From the Principal
A school in a small town has to be more than a building. For thirty-seven years we have tried to be the place where a child from any home in this valley can be taught well and taken seriously.
