Founded in 1989 at Jahu, affiliated to CBSE, and run on the same campus ever since.
Where we are
Green Valley Public School is situated at the western end of Jahu township, on the left side of the Jahu–Hamirpur road, in Tehsil Bhoranj of District Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh.
How it started
The school opened on 4 April 1989. It was set up to give the villages around Jahu an English-medium option that followed a national syllabus, at a time when families otherwise had to send children to Hamirpur or Bilaspur for one.
It has been affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education under affiliation number 630234, and prepares students for the Board examinations on this campus.
From the Principal
A school in a small town has to be more than a building. For thirty-seven years we have tried to be the place where a child from any home in this valley can be taught well and taken seriously.
Parents who send their children here are making a real sacrifice, and the least we owe them is honesty about how their child is doing. Our teachers are asked to say plainly what a child is good at and where the work has to be put in. Nothing is dressed up.
You are welcome to walk into the office on any working day and ask to see a class in session.
